Pedro’s family consists of himself, his wife and two daughters.

They grow organic coffee because it is good for to the environment and keeps the land in good condition, most of the coffee is sold by UCA MIRAFLOR but Pedro keeps some for drinking.

The harvest time is 3 months between January and March, he has 1 acre of coffee but due to rust disease right now only half is in production.

The profits are few because growing coffee takes times and work, but having coffee for consumption makes him very happy as he drinks the coffee he  produces.

He has 2 daughters, the oldest daughter is 16 and the youngest 10; both attend school in the community. The oldest daughter wants to go to college in the city as she wants to be a Physicomatématic (maths teacher) in the future so I support her so she can study and prepare.

Pedro likes being in a cooperative because there are many educational benefits for the family and projects for the farm.

Pedro has his own house with 2 rooms, kitchen, living room. He has no electrical  appliances  but does have a pig, chickens, and a dog that takes care of the house when the family are not in.

Pedro grows corn, beans, potatoes and some vegetables, the families’ only have income comes from selling coffee and vegetables.
